Star Wars Puzzle Shortage Forces Family To Work On Thomas Kinkade Puzzles

AKRON, OH — The Robinson family of Cascade Valley have reluctantly settled on a trilogy of Thomas Kinkade puzzles to help pass the time during lockdown. The clan of five had originally planned on buying a few Star Wars puzzles, but husband Tom quickly found out that the entire galaxy seemed to have the same idea.

“Sold out everywhere, and the one or two places online that still had Star Wars puzzles were marking them up to ridiculous prices. Don’t even bother searching for Baby Yoda puzzles. I swear, this stuff is the new toilet paper!”

After a fruitless three-day search, the Robinsons began to weigh their options. 14-year old Stevie Robinson offered to print large images, paste them on cardboard, overlay a 500-piece puzzle design on the photo, and painstakingly cut out 500 pieces. Twin 8-year-olds Tomax and Xamot volunteered to share their Nintendo Switch with the family and use their Nintendo Gold Coins to purchase either Animated Jigsaws: Japanese Women or Panty Party.

The winning suggestion, however, came from matriarch Deb Robinson, who dug up a trio of Thomas Kincaid puzzles bequeathed to her by her late mother, Ruth.

“They’re 1,000-pieces each, so they’ll definitely keep us busy. I also convinced the kids that Kinkade’s signature lighting effects are like little Force ghosts in every scene. My husband took a little more convincing, but once I showed him that Thomas Kinkade Studios has collaborated with Lucasfilm in the past, he was a lot more open to Nanette’s Cottage, Lakeside Manor, and Christmas at Gingerbread Cottage.”

Have you completed any Star Wars puzzles while in quarantine? Share photos of yours with us on social media, so we can dream of one day being able to purchase one as well. Perhaps we can trade you some toilet paper or Animal Crossing Bunny Day eggs for one?
