Dominic Monaghan Reveals His Star Wars Episode IX Character

From the Shire to the Island to the Galaxy Far, Far Away! It’s no secret that Dominic Monaghan is starring in Star Wars Episode IX but his role has been securely stuffed into JJ’s Mystery Box… UNTIL NOW! The former Hobbit has taken to social media to reveal his character in the final entry of the Skywalker saga.

After posting this on Twitter, FSW UK was able to sit down with Monaghan at a vegan pub in Yorkshire to have him elaborate on the cryptic tweet.

Dominic had this to say:

“Oi, yeah. I am playing a Wookiee in Star Wars [Episode] IX. But not just any Wookiee mate, but a bloody pygmy Wookiee. I kid you not, I will be portraying Chewbacca’s son Lumpy and I will be speaking.

Apparently I will be the only Wookiee who can speak [Galactic Basic]. I gotta tell ya mate, I’m bloody stoked for the release and everyone can see me as a Wookiee not just wearing a fury zippy. By the way, why are we sitting in the loo?”

Pretty exciting stuff! We at FSW are very excited to see Dominic take up the role of Lumpawaroo. Maybe we will see Chewbacca’s wife and father show up and become #Canon too!
