Jake Skywalker Loves His New Disneyland Bust
Luke Skywalker’s alter ego, Jake Skywalker, is putting his best face forward at Disneyland these days, courtesy of a new bust made in his likeness. The reclusive star of The Last Jedi was recently immortalized at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in California. In a rare public appearance, Jake attended Disneyland’s first annual “Jake Skywalker Day” and posed in front of the bust for assembled media and confused fans.
“I’m absolutely floored—it’s my spitting image! They nailed my boyish good looks, but what’s even more amazing… they somehow managed to capture the desperation in the depths of my soul. I mean… the more you look into those eyes, the more you feel like giving up on your hopes and dreams, betraying your friends, and ditching whatever commitments you’ve made. It’s liberating as f*%$, to be honest” said Skywalker.
Not everyone was as impressed with the bust. As to be expected, the actor made famous for portraying Luke Skywalker, was first to hate on Jake’s bust.
“Saw this bust on display. I know it’s supposed to be Jake, but I think it looks more like Oliver Reed,” posted Mark Hamill on Instagram.
Hamill’s snide remark set the tone for his followers, who quickly piled on. The rabid mob said Jake Skywalker’s bust looked more like Orson Welles, Peter Dinklage, Rip Torn—even Luke Skywalker.
Despite the personal attacks, Jake has taken it all in stride.
“Mark and I have mixed it up plenty over the years. So it’s water under the bridge. And I don’t blame him. I’d be pretty mad about being replaced by me, too. Good thing the bust can’t talk, right?!”
