Disney Wants Gina Carano To Be Nominated For “Best Supporting Actress We Tried To Cancel”

In a surprising turn of events, Disney is now vying for former employee Gina Carano to be nominated for a controversial new Emmy category. Over the weekend, Disney released its Emmy “For Your Consideration” marketing materials, and Carano is listed under the Supporting Actress We Tried To Cancel category, despite the actor being fired earlier this year.

“Gina Carano has shown great resilience and moral fortitude in the face of our multimedia blitz to erase her from the public eye,” said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. “But more importantly, she is the only person to have ever successfully resisted the brain chip we implant within all employees. Regardless of politics or pronouns, I think we can all agree that’s something worth celebrating. Once again, the Force is indeed female,” she added.

If Carano wins, she will become the Emmy’s first-ever recipient of the Best Supporting Actress We Tried To Cancel award. Kennedy has also teased that a win could secure Carano’s return as Cara Dune in both The Rangers of the New Republic and Mandalorian Season 3.
