Weebs Already Blaming Kathleen Kennedy For the Death of Anime

Following the release of a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Star Wars: Visions anime anthology series for Disney+, weebs, weeabos, and otakus are donning their asymmetrical armor, polishing their oversized swords, applying a generous amount of hair gel, and practicing their ninjutsu run for a war against Lucasfilm. The die hard fans of anime and all things Japan are already blaming Kathleen Kennedy for the death of anime.
“They can’t even pronounce ‘anime’ correctly,” said self-proclaimed Japanophilia expert Kevin DuBois of Wilmington, Idaho. “The guy in the video called ‘awn-ee-may’! Pathetic. I bet it won’t even be in Japanese with subs, only dubbed. This will be the death of anime *crying emoji*.”
While many critics are claiming that it’s a baseless cash grab from the “white slavers” at Lucasfilm to appeal to the Asian market, others are accusing Kennedy of cultural appropriation.
“Kathleen-San is guilty of cultural appropriation of Japan. This will not be taken lightly,” warned reddit user xSenpai69x. “Anime has to be based on a manga first and Star Wars is not a manga! The Lucasfilm cronies should prepare themselves for the coming storm. If they thought the Fandom Menace was bad, wait until they get a load of us and our final form!”
Word is spreading around the internet about a full scale invasion on Lucasfilm HQ in San Francisco, California by these anime fans, scheduled to take place on September 21st, just one day before the release of Star Wars: Visions on Disney+. Will this be another Area 51 raid? Lucasfilm leadership thinks so. We reached out to James Waugh, the Executive Producer at Lucasfilm who is heading up the Visions project regarding the supposed “invasion” and he replied to us via Twitter DM with about 100 laughing emojis then blocked us.
We will continue to publish updates on this on going matter, and to the Lucasfilm staff, please stay safe and maybe practice a ninjutsu run as well.
